Hello All,
I wanted to post my experience with the Idromed 4 PS.
I suffer from palmar and plantar Hyperhidrosis although I dont worry much about the latter, for obvious reasons. The level of Hyperhidrosis itself is very acute...I'd rate mine 10/10 with severe sweating on the front & back of my palms. I bought the Idromed 4 a few months back & had decent success in the beginning but sparing success later. This was very dissapointing & stressfull but I am glad I did not give up.
The thing with iontophoresis is that you need to find the right schedule and setting to make it work. In the beginning it was very hard to get help because this is a rate condition and this is where the new forum setup by Markus helped a lot. He was very responsive and helpful to my email requests asking for advice. He advised me to modify my schedule from 20 mins/day@12mA to 1hour/day@15mA. After 10 days of everyday use (I reverse polarity everyday), I am glad to say that it has been working for 1 month now. I do maintenance treatments once per week. My hands were dry at 40C during a trip to Asia in summer. Interestingly, now that my hands are dry, even Hyperhidrosis on my feet has reduced even though I do not treat my feet.
My advice to anyone with Hyperhidrosis would be to try Iontophoresis for sure and Idromed 4 PS in particular. It is effective and has very low levels of pain & irritation. Do not consider medications/surgery. The former stops sweating all over your body which is harmful (makes the body heat up)...while the latter has long term irreversible consequences. Get the PS, experiment with it to get the setting which works and then be dry!!!!
