Hi,
After 24 days of using the Idromed 5 PC my hands and feet are dry!
Thanks for your recommendation about the water level .
Interestingly, I now have a line of sweat that develops on my feet and heels just above where the water level meets air - any suggestion of how to treat this area? (I'm using about 2 cms water depth for my feet.)

I couldn't find much info about using the Idromed on small children.
My 3 year old niece has very sweaty hands and feet - would iontophoresis be safe for her? Is there any literature about the use of Idromed on small children, possible side-effects, etc?

it is the same for children as for adults, so the same side-effects, and yes it will be safe for her, another thing is : must she really have a threapy in this small age, is she so affected by the situation that you have someting to do ?

Thanks for your quick answer.
My 3 year old niece is already asking why her hands are so sweaty. So perhaps not now, but I would like to be prepared for the moment when she can try the Idromed. I don't want her to live through the misery I experienced for nearly 40 years!

Well, I'm 10 sessions in on my new Idromed 5 GS and using it on my hands only. I've noticed something strange. For the first 8 sessions I had the negative polarity on my left hand and positive on my right since I read that the plus is stronger and I want my right hand dry more than anything right now.
The thing is, I noticed that It FELT like the negative was stronger (my left hand felt more sensation than my right) so I switched the polarities and after two session of having the plus on my left instead, there's now this unbearable pain located in a very tiny spot almost where my thumb meets my palm. I'm not sure if its coincidence since I just switched polarities or what...I'm trying to be as patient as possible with this treatment as I know I might not get results for another 10 sessions or so...but if this pain persists I don't know what I shall do. Any help would be appreciated (from Markus or anyone else who's experienced pain in one very specific tiny spot on the hand)

settings: 13-15ma
time: 15 minutes
water: cold tap with nothing added

ps - the electrode plates are starting to get 'patina', it looks like corrosion or rust or areas of dark discoloration? should I clean them?

Thanks

it must be cleaned when the device didnt achieve the wished mA settings.

so normally the + electrode is the one with the stronger current feel. are you sure youve plugged it in right? sometimes customers plug in the - elecrode in the + socket and mean now it is - (cause label of the cable)

maybe it wasnt connected whist the maufatoration, but i dont think this is it.

so when small areas as you described hurt it is maybe because of the join wich is directly under the skin. if it is too strong just cream tis spot in with cream

iontophoresis is good for the joints too, so do not worry

you should have taken a pulsed current device for the hands

well the device acheived the ma settings i want (up to 15 max) so I guess I dont have to clean the plates just yet??

as far as the connections I double checked the cables and made sure they were plugged into the right ports (+and- in the device) and I knew I had switched polarity because I simply switched, like you said, the labeled cables from one plate to the other.

the pain isnt really 'joint pain' its muscle pain and its at a very tiny spot where the thumb meets palm...i didnt feel it the first 9 sessions but I definitely noticed that my negative is way stronger than my positive (in regards to sensation)....i dont know how to account for that (and I'm regretting not going for the pulsed unit now but I dont think the problem is in that)

they're both pretty much equally discolored (not as shiny as new)

I have now carried out six sessions (30 mins every other day) with good results.
I'm treating my hands with a PS device at 17 mA. As well as Detti, I feel the current the most at the interface with the air, the most painful (yet tolerable) part being at the first section of the fingers, where they are covered by little hair. I'm also using water at a depth of about 2 cm. I noticed I feel less pain with more water. Overall, I can bear 17 mA pretty well and I feel I could increase it. The problem is that the current is causing me micro-bruises (expecially at the base of the nails) and if such bruises are in contact with the current, then it burns quite a lot. Covering them with plasters doesn't help.
Yesterday I went to play bowling, such a nice sensation to handle the bowl with dry hands, however after a while of rubbing it inside the bowl hole, my thumb started to bleed. This must have been because of such micro-cuts. As a consequence I had to perform the treatment with the bruised part of the thumb well outside the layer of water.

How is it that everyone feels pain at the line between air and water, I dont feel anything there....although i do feel the current at the fingernails and even had to put vaseline in front of my nails

six sessions and dry hands!!! that's great...i hope it works for me eventually :S
does anyone out there feel the negative side stronger than the positive?

Adition and edit from me (Markus): At the - side you have the stronger current feel, at the + side the best sweat reduction effect.
